Abstract

The Advanced AI-Enhanced Learning Environment (AAELE) system incorporates cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology into regular teaching and learning procedures with the goal of completely changing the educational experience. Through the use of multimodal data processingtext, speech, and videothis project creates an extremely dynamic and adaptable learning environment that improves student engagement while streamlining administrative duties. Realtime emotion identification, automated attendance monitoring, automated note-taking and organisation, and AI-powered online exams (vivas) are some of the main elements of the AAELE system. Together, these elements offer a smooth and effective learning environment for teachers and stu dents. Multimodal emotion recognition is used by the AAELE system to track pupils emotional states in real time. The technology provides instructors with insights about student engagement and emotional well-being by employing convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and recurrent neural networks (RNNs) to analyse facial expressions, audio, and textual data. The Google Gemini Vision Pro model is employed to improve the precision of facial expression recognition (FER), contributing to a more personalised and responsive teaching approach. The system incorporates facial recognition technology for automated attendance tracking, hence automating administrative work. This feature uses deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for reliable recognition after using Haar cascades for initial face detection. With cameras built right into the classroom, attendance logs are automatically updated, saving time and effort on manual record-keeping. As a result, the administrative workload is much decreased, and attendance records are more accurate. The problem of taking notes and organising content is another issue that the AAELE method tackles. Optical character recognition (OCR) is used to synchronise the speakers voice during a lecture with the content of the slideshow. Automatic speech recognition (ASR) records the speakers speech. Transformer-based models, like Google Gemini Pro, are used to produce wellstructured and summarised notes, making it possible for students to quickly and easily access the most important lecture elements. This function lessens the need for pupils to take notes by hand, freeing them up to concentrate more on active learning. In terms of AI-driven assessments, the AAELE system facilitates oral examinations (vivas) through natural language understanding (NLU) frameworks. The system generates dynamic and contextually relevant questions, evaluates student responses based on predefined rubrics, and offers consistent and scalable assessments. Question-answering models, supported by transfer learning techniques, ensure that the assessments are both accurate and contextually appropriate. The performance evaluation of the AAELE system is based on several key metrics. The ac curacy of emotion recognition is measured using precision, recall, and F1 scores, with human annotated data serving as the baseline for comparison. The performance of the automatic attendance system is evaluated by comparing its results with manual logs, while the quality of automated note-taking is assessed through word error rate (WER) and ROUGE scores. Additionally, the scalability of the AI-driven assessment system is tested by simulating different classroom sizes and student interactions. Feedback from both students and educators is collected to evaluate the systems overall usability and its impact on learning outcomes. In conclusion, the AAELE system offers a transformative approach to education by harnessing the power of AI to create an interactive, efficient, and adaptive learning environment. Its innovative features, including emotion recognition, automated note-taking, and AI-driven assessments, make it a valuable tool for modernising traditional educational processes. The system has the potential to be scaled across various educational levels, from primary schools to universities, and can also be adapted for corporate training environments.
