Abstract

The growing demand for secure and high-speed communication in IoT environments has high- lighted the limitations of traditional RF-based wireless technologies, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which are prone to congestion and interference. To overcome these challenges, the LuminoLink project explores Visible Light Communication as an innovative alternative, leveraging the visible light spectrum (400-700 nm) for simultaneous illumination and data transmission. The primary objectives of LuminoLink are to enable secure text transmission, enhance scalability, improve energy efficiency, and ensure real-time adaptability within IoT ecosystems. The system successfully achieved a significant reduction in interference, ensuring reliable and efficient communication with high data integrity. This was accomplished through the integration of LEDs, shift registers, NAND gates, and optical receivers, utilizing a hybrid hardware-software design for effective signal processing and noise reduction. These results demonstrate LuminoLinks potential as a next-generation communication solution, effectively addressing key challenges in IoT-driven environments.
