Abstract
In this study, software simulations of Cuk converters using PI and One-Cycle Control (OCC) methods are analyzed by MATLAB/Simulink program. Cuk converter is the most commonly used SMPS circuit for power applications. In order to observe the behavior and robustness of the control circuit, load current, input voltage and reference voltage of control circuit are varied to obtain constant output voltage. In addition, advantages and disadvantages of PI and OCC method that are implemented to Cuk Converter are analyzed. The Cuk converter is a high-efficiency, low-electromagnetic interference (EMI) DC-DC converter suitable for renewable energy systems, power supplies, and electric vehicles. This converter topology features continuous input and output currents, reducing EMI and increasing efficiency. The Cuk converter's unique capacitor divider and coupled inductor design enable high power density, low output ripple, and flexibility for step-up and step-down applications. Advanced control strategies, such as PWM and digital control, optimize performance and efficiency. Recent developments include hybrid Cuk converters, soft- switching techniques, and Gan-based designs, further enhancing performance. This converter offers:
- High efficiency (up to 98%)
- Low EMI
- High power density
- Flexibility for step-up/step-down applications
- Low output ripple
