Abstract

Our project introduces an innovative solution to the navigation challenges faced in low-internet or no-internet zones by utilizing light-fidelity (LiFi) technology. As Internet connectivity becomes essential for decision making, unreliable network access can cause uncertainty and stress, especially during navigation. Unlike traditional GPS-based systems that rely on continuous Internet connectivity, our proposed system leverages LiFi-enabled LED lights to transmit essential map data to mobile devices. This offline navigation approach enhances accessibility and reliability, providing seamless guidance in malls, museums, and any location where the Internet is unavailable. This paper explores the system architecture, highlights key technical considerations, and discusses its potential impact on smart infrastructure development, improving navigation experiences for travelers in both urban and remote settings, and the results of integration of LiFi through mobile cameras.
