Abstract

Traditional wireless technologies such as Bluetooth, NFC, and Wi-Fi are essen- tial to modern communication but encounter limitations in crowded environments. Bluetooth is restricted by short range and low data speeds, NFC by very short range and limited bandwidth, and Wi-Fi by network congestion and security is- sues in dense areas. These limitations call for alternative technologies that offer better reliability, security, and bandwidth. LiFi (Light Fidelity) provides an inno- vative solution by using visible light for data transmission. Unlike traditional RF- based systems, LiFi modulates LED light to transfer data at multi-gigabit speeds, ideal for high-bandwidth applications. With visible light confined within walls, LiFi enhances security by minimizing data interception risk. It also avoids RF interference, making it suitable for environments like hospitals and airplanes. This report examines the fundamentals of LiFi, its advantages over conventional wireless technologies, and presents a secure LiFi-based data transmission system using AES encryption. By exploring both the potential and security of LiFi, this research supports its role as a next-generation communication solution.
